The Rt. Hon. Lord Baker of Dorking CH
Kenneth Baker became a member of the House of Lords in June 1997. He has previously served in the House of Commons as Secretary of State for the Home Office, Secretary of State for Education and Science, Secretary of State for the Environment, and Minister of State for Industry and Information Technology. Lord Baker is a non-executive director of Virtual Orchestra Ltd, Inter-Hopper Ltd (Chairman), and The Belmont Press [London] Ltd (Chairman). He is Chairman of the Lehman Brothers Merchant Banking European Advisory Council. He is also an advisor to ICL plc and a member of the European Advisory Boards of The Blackstone Group and SCT Corp. He was previously a non-executive director of Hanson plc, Millennium Chemicals Inc., and Wavetek Wandel Goltermann Inc.

Lord Baker was educated at St. Paul's and Magdalen College, Oxford, and served as a Lieutenant in the Royal Artillery.


Frank A. Bonsal, Jr.
Frank Bonsal is a founding partner of Red Abbey Venture Partners, LLC. He was a founding partner of New Enterprise Associates ("NEA"). His investment activities focus on a broad range of technically oriented and service-oriented companies. He serves as a director of several private companies. Before co-founding NEA, he was a general partner of Alex. Brown & Sons.

Mr. Bonsal received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Princeton University.


Dr. Uffe Bundgaard-Joergensen
Uffe Bundgaard-Joergensen is an owner and Chairman of Brabo Ventures, which operates the Gate2Growth Initiative and manages the Gate2Growth Business Matching Service (InvestorNet). Through the Gate2Growth.com service center Investors and Entrepreneurs can access a complete range of services, resources, industry foresight and networking opportunities via a Europe-wide platform that allows the user to rapidly identify qualified partners and evaluate their offerings.

Dr. Bundgaard-Joergensen was a Founder of Mermaid Venture Consulting (2000) which focuses on private company projects in Denmark and internationally. From 1988 to 1999, he served as the Managing Director of Danish Venture Finance, one of Denmark's oldest venture capital firms, and served and on the Boards of a number of the firm's investee companies in Denmark and in the United States. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the European Venture Capital Association (ECVA) from 1993 to 1997, and chaired its Early-Stage (now High-Tech) Committee.

Dr. Bundgaard-Joergensen received his PhD in economics and operations research from the University of Copenhagen and Danish Technical University.


W “H” Clark
“H” Clark is the retired Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Nalco Chemical, a NYSE-listed global corporation. He subsequently served as Chairman of the Board of Millennium Chemicals, Inc., another NYSE-listed global corporation. He is currently on the Board of Directors of Lyondell Chemical Company (LYO – NYSE), a Fortune 500 company. He was Chairman of the Chemical Manufacturers Association of OCITA (Office of Chemical Industry Trade Advisor). Mr. Clark has served on the boards of Bethlehem Steel Corporation, Chicago Northwestern Railroad, Fort James Corporation, Georgia-Pacific Corporation, Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc., Millennium Chemicals, Inc., Nalco Chemical Company, Nicor Inc. & Northern Illinois Gas, Northern Trust Company, Ultramar Diamond Shamrock Corp., USG Corp. and U.S. Gypsum Corp., Valero Energy Corporation. Formerly he was Chairman of the Society of the Chemical Industry, and a member of the Governing Board of the Illinois Council on Economic Education, the Illinois Economic Development Board, the Business Roundtable, and The Conference Board. He is a Life Trustee of the Field Museum of Natural History, a Life Trustee and a member of the Board of Advisors of the Brookfield Zoo, and a Life Member of the Northwestern University Advisory Board of Kellogg Business School.

He holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from North Carolina State University, and he is a graduate of the Stanford University Executive Program. His honors include Honorary Doctor of Business Administration, North Central College, Distinguished Engineering Alumnus Award from North Carolina State University, SCI Chemical Industry Gold Medal, and American Institute of Chemists Award.


Robert E. La Blanc
Bob La Blanc is President of Robert E. La Blanc Associates, Inc., information technologies consulting and investment banking firm. Before that, he was Vice Chairman of Continental Telecom, Inc., a diversified telecommunications company, and a General Partner at Salomon Brothers, where he founded the Telecommunications Team and was voted leading Wall Street telecommunications industry analyst in Institutional Investor’s annual surveys from 1973-1978.

Mr. La Blanc is a director of Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing Ltd., Computer Associates International, Inc., FiberNet Telecom Group, Inc., Storage Technology Corp., Titan Corp., and over ninety Prudential Mutual Funds. He is Chairman of the Advisory Board of Edelson Technology Partners and a director of Norwood Venture Corp. Previously, Mr. La Blanc was a director of Contel Cellular, Inc., European American Bank, M/A-COM, Inc., Salient Three Communications Inc., Storage Technology Corp., TIE/communications, Inc., American Satellite Corporation, Network Analysis Corporation, and Tribune Co. He was a founding Director of the Catholic Telecommunications Network of America, Inc.

Mr. La Blanc holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree from Manhattan College and an MBA from New York University, and is a graduate of an extensive technical training program at the Bell Telephone Laboratories. He is a four term Trustee and former Vice-Chair of Manhattan College, which awarded him a Doctorate of Humane Letters, honoris causa, in 1997.


Jennifer A. McFarlane
Jennifer McFarlane is CEO of The Women’s Technology Cluster. She has expertise across diverse fields of technology, including high technology, biotech, and clean technology. She has raised over $300 million for technology-based companies, both as an investment banker and as a corporate executive. Previously, Jennifer was Deputy Chair of Trans Pacific Petroleum, an Australian holding company. Before that, she was an Executive Director of Southern Pacific Petroleum NL, a public Australian energy technology company, where she was part of a leadership team that took the company through a major growth phase, with responsibility for strategy and financing. Prior to SPP, she was a Principal of CROSS BORDER ENTERPRISES, L.L.C., a Director of Barents Group LLC, a subsidiary of KPMG, leading teams advising numerous Governments on privatization, and a Vice President in Investment Banking at Salomon Brothers Inc. in New York.

Ms. McFarlane is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and was a member of the Young Presidents Organization of Australia from 2000-2004. In 2003, she was awarded the Centenary Medal by the Prime Minister of Australia for her contribution to business. Ms. McFarlane received her MBA from Stanford University and both an LLB and a B.Sc. in Biochemistry from the University of New South Wales, Sydney.


Ambassador Vernon R. W. (Jim) Steward
Ambassador Steward represented South Africa as Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations during the transition to democracy under President Mandela. He was Ambassador to Italy and also served in the Middle East. He was also Chief Director: East and West Europe and International Organizations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Ambassador Steward is a Member of the Board, (US) National Child Labor Committee. He is a Chartered Accountant (South Africa) and holds a B.Comm. degree from University of Witwatersrand.

Washington SyCip is the Founder of The SGV Group, an auditing and management consulting company with operations throughout East Asia.

Mr. SyCip is Chairman, Board of Trustees and Board of Governors, Asian Institute of Management, Philippines; Honorary Chairman, Euro-Asia Centre, INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France; member of the Board of Governors, Joseph H. Lauder Institute of Management and International Studies, University of Pennsylvania; Member, Board of Overseers, Columbia University Graduate School of Business; Board Member, The Conference Board, New York; Member, International Advisory Board, Council on Foreign Relations, New York; Chairman, Asia Pacific Advisory Committee, New York Stock Exchange. He is also an Honorary Life Trustee of the Asia Society. Mr. SyCip is a member of the International Advisory Boards of American International Group, New York; Cambrex Corporation, USA; VIAG Aktiengesellschaft, Germany.

Mr. SyCip was previously a member of the International Boards of AT&T Corp., United Technologies Corp., Caterpillar, Inc., Owens-Illinois, Australia & New Zealand Banking Group, Pacific Dunlop Limited, Australia, and LucasVarity Corporation, USA. He was a member of the International Advisory Board of Chase Manhattan Bank and an Advisor to Arthur Andersen.


Sybrand van der Spuy
Sybrand van der Spuy is owner of Cape Point Vineyards in South Africa (www.capepointvineyards.co.za). He is also Founder and Managing Partner of Partnership Investments, one of South Africa's most successful leveraged buy-out firms over the last ten years. Partnership Investments recently bought a 33% stake in Brimstone Investment Corporation Limited, a listed South African Empowerment Group. Before founding Partnership Investments in 1989, Mr. van der Spuy served as Head of Corporate Finance at George Huysamer & Partners Inc. in Johannesburg. He holds a B. Comm (Honors) degree from Rand Afrikaans University and is a Chartered Accountant. Mr. van der Spuy serves on the Board of The National Development Agency, which administers poverty relief programs in South Africa for foreign donors and for the South African Government.
